Dr. Karunakar Reddy – Founder, Swashodhan Trust
Dr. Karunakar Reddy, an Interventional Cardiologist and Social Rural Entrepreneur, practiced medicine in the United States for over 25 years before returning to India in 2014 to dedicate his life to rural transformation. In 2017, he established Swashodhan Trust with a vision to create self-sufficient, self-sustaining, and digitally dharmic model villages that combine modern technology with cultural values.
Under his leadership, Swashodhan Trust is making an impact across three major verticals:
Digital Education – Providing high-quality, free education through digital classrooms and ICT centers, currently reaching 18,000 students across 53 rural schools.
Digital Health – Delivering high-quality, non-profit primary & preventive digital health through telemedicine clinics. The model offers multi-specialty and super-specialty care, along with Ayurvedic and Homeopathic services, ensuring holistic healthcare for underserved tribal regions like Adilabad.
Digital Jobs – Building ICT-based employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for rural youth and women, strengthening local economies and creating sustainable livelihoods.
