🩺 Digital Health in Adilabad District – A Rural Healthcare Revolution by Swashodhan Trust
Swashodhan Trust began its Digital Health initiative in Adilabad district with a visionary mission: to deliver high-quality, low-cost, multispeciality doctors and accessible healthcare to rural populations who traditionally lack access to medical infrastructure. With a commitment to prevent urban migration by bringing urban-grade medical services to remote villages, the Trust launched its first telemedicine clinic in Tosham village, Gudihatnoor Mandal.
🌿 The Beginning: Healthcare Where It’s Needed Most
The program officially began in 2023, after years of groundwork and community need assessments. The first Telemedicine Clinic was set up in Tosham as a hybrid model — a physical setup staffed with a receptionist and clinical assistant, connected to virtual doctors through a secure internet platform using OpenEMR (Electronic Medical Records).
The core idea was simple yet powerful use technology and portable diagnostics to bring specialists and general practitioners into the homes of rural villagers, virtually. What began with one center soon evolved into a model recognized across Telangana.
